Saturday Sayings

So I'm pretty late in the day for posting my Saturday saying but I'm excited to be joining Tammy at Forever in First for her Saturday Sayings.

This quote gave me a lot to chew on. My class this year is a great class. I've had them for almost 2 years now. They have grown a lot as readers and learners. I started the two year loop with 6 ELL students. They have probably grown more than any of my other students. I'm not really sure that I have had a lot to do with that other than giving them as many opportunities as possible to read and write. I have one particular student who is really struggling and this quote really makes me think about what kind of support I'm giving him. This definitely gives me a reason to stop and think about what I'm doing for my students who are struggling. Obviously doing what I'm doing for those who are succeeding is not working. Just something to think on. Be sure to check out Tammy at Forever in First and the others joining her today.

  1. I love Kathy Collins. One of the hardest things about teaching is meeting the needs of all kids - those who succeed and those who struggle. It's such a wide range of needs, but Kathy is definitely right! Thanks for joining me today Kerri!

  2. That's a really great quote! A very important thing to remember. I think we also pay a lot of attention to those who struggle sometimes at the expense of those who succeed-that's what it made me think of. :)
