About Me

Meet Ms. Kerri

My name is Kerri and this is my blog. I am currently heading into my 13th year teaching. It is hard to believe that I have been teaching this long. I started out in Nashville, TN teaching a 3rd grade self contained ELL class. But the mountains of East Tennessee were calling my name and I move back home to Gatlinburg. I have taught a K-1 loop for the past 9 years.

Part of moving back home meant that I reunited with some old friends from high school. One of those ended up being the love of my life. We've been married for 4 years this past June.

18 months ago we welcomed a little girl into our lives. She is spunky and definitely keeps me on my toes. Because of her, I sometimes post about early childhood activities and things to do with your toddler.

I started this blog about five years ago. I love sharing what is going on in my classroom. Family and life have gotten in the way of blogging the past year and half but I'm back to share great tips, activities and lessons. I am passionate about reading and technology and hope to inspire my students to have a passion for them too.
I started my Teachers Pay Teachers store not too long after starting my blog. I love to create materials for my classroom and that will help other teachers in their classroom. I have a passion for reading fluency, technology, and games.  Fun and engaging ways to teach skills is my goal.

  1. Hi Kerri! I have been using your Kindergarten Homework with my class for the past couple of years and love it! However my district is changing to DOLCH words now. Is there any chance you have a set that goes by DOLCH words? or do you know of anyone who has similiar weekly homework pages with the DOLCH words instead of Journeys?

  2. Or ... could it be possible to get an editible version of your Homewrok packets so I could rerrange them and change them to go with our DOLCH sight word list?
